Nene Nwoko is a Nigerian-born actress, producer and voice-over artist based in Texas. She has been featured in a number of films, TV shows and shorts. We caught up with her recently to talk about her role on a recent episode of the hit television show S.W.A.T.
Interview with Nene Nwoko
What role did you play on the show?
In season 3 episode 10 of S.W.A.T, I played a character named “Stacia”. In a quest for revenge, Stacia’s boyfriend Yusef Ahmed and his team held hostage the wife and son of a former Somalian War Lord who tortured them and turned them into child solders. The S.W.A.T team discovers that Yusef has a girlfriend and they come looking for him at her house. And the rest is TV’s beautiful history.
How did you book the gig?
I auditioned for the role at the casting office of Wendy Weidman. I auditioned for two roles on the same day and thankfully booked one of them.
What other projects are you working on?
You can also see me on episode 1 and 8 of the newly released TV show titled “The Chosen”. I play the character named Rivka. Additionally, I am producing a feature film called The Lump. It is based on a true life story of a male Gynecologists who was diagnosed with Male Breast Cancer.
How long have you been a 3As member and how has the organization benefited you?
I have been a proud and happy member of 3As since 2016. 3As offers a lot of support and resources to it’s members. Just recently the board organized a free workshop for it’s members with NBC on the lot. And that was a wonderful opportunity for the many talented African actors and actresses to be seen doing what they do best.
How long have you been a 3As member and how has the organization benefited you?
3As is an organization any African Artist should be a member of. The benefits cannot be quantified. The guest speakers who come to share their wealth of knowledge a lone is so worth it. I am happy to be associated with the group of creatives.
