Tony Tambi is a U.S. based actor and filmmaker. After spending the first seven years of his life in Nigeria and the next fourteen in Cameroon, he moved to Minnesota in 1999 to further his education. Armed with an Accounting degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
Within a year of his arrival, he received an NAACP Theatre Award Nomination for Lead Actor in the West Coast Premiere of The God Botherers. Other plays followed including the critically-acclaimed world premiere of Butterflies of Uganda.
After various roles on TV and film, he co-wrote, directed, produced and starred in the short film Chapter One, which went on to play at various festivals nationwide, culminating in multiple airings on PBS, as part of its Shorts Showcase Festival.
His script Letter From The President was one of the eight projects to join Forest Whitaker’s JuntoBox Feature Film Incubator Program in 2014 .
