Anah Ambuchi is a 10 year old Kenyan-American actress, writer, model, and dancer who is currently represented by Shirley Hamilton Talent Agency in Chicago, New York, and L.A. At the age of five, Anah started perfecting her craft with dance where she trains under Mrs. Kristi Andarcia at the Kenwood School of Ballet in the Kenwood/Hyde Park neighborhood. At the age of six, Anah added theatre to her resume, landing roles in theatre’s such as Harris Theatre Millennium Park, Gorilla Tango, Lookingglass, Collaboration, and Artistic Home Theatre. At the age of seven, Anah began to explore with TV and film and by the age of eight Anah started training under Jossie Harris Thacker who helped her tremendously in understanding the art of acting. Since working with Jossie, Anah has been able to appear in commercials such as American Girl Doll, Build-A-Bear workshop, and BuzzFeed Jewel-Osco. Her print work experience includes AARP, and has held principal and supporting roles in student films and independent films.
Recently, Bang, a film Anah had the honor of being part of was an official film selection for the Cleveland International Film Festival, NAACP Film Festival in Baltimore, MD and the Justice on Trial Film Festival in Los Angeles. While studying under Jossie, Anah was also encouraged to write her story of how bullying and colorism has affected her and in the spring of 2018, Anah will direct her first short film which is inspired by true events.
In addition to acting, Anah models for her favorite African designer Anzhelika Crochet by Ms. Patricia from Congo. When Anah is not acting, writing, dancing, or modeling she is maintaining her honor roll status in school and she enjoys time with her family and friends.
Anah is truly honored and humbled for every opportunity that she is given. She aspires to use her platform to encourage young girls of color to follow their dreams no matter the obstacles and challenges. She lives by the model that her dreams are valid!
